Winter CSA - Week 6
In the share this week:
Blue Solaise leek - so flavorful, one of my favorite leek varieties.
Two chicories: Bellesque frisee and Cornet de Bordeaux escarole - these chicories you should be familiar with but we are so proud of how beautiful they look with all this agreeable weather!
Andover parsnip - always sad to see the last of this great root
Yellowstone carrots - a great cooking carrot for soups, roasts and more!
Champion collard greens - sweet and delicious, I could even eat these raw.
3 Root Grex beets w/greens - these winter sweet beets haven't been in the share yet this season. Their greens are delicious and the roots are great raw in a salad or roasted.
We can't believe the Winter CSA is already over! We thank you for hanging in there with us and being flexible to the whims of farming in the winter--even with great weather you never know what is going to happen. We look forward to a short break and then Spring CSA begins. Unfortunately we sold out of our Spring Share but summer is right around the corner and you can sign up for a Summer CSA Share here.
Thanks so much for all your support. We hope you love the vegetable as much as we do!
