We have a job for you! Our Table Cooperative is looking for a full-time cook to work on our farm in Sherwood. Just 15 miles south of Portland, our 60 acre farm grows a large variety of organic vegetables, fruit and meats. As a farm cooperative, we source the things we don't grow on our own farm from other Oregon farmers and food artisans who share our ethics and commitment to quality. We have a commercial kitchen facility and grocery store on our farm and your job will be to explore the endless possibilities of combining creative cooking with the freshest and best ingredients. At an everyday level, your job will involve developing and producing a whole range of prepared foods for sale at the farm -- everything from season-extending preserves and jellies to full meals that use the bounty of the fields in creative ways. There will be times when the bounty of the fields will require a frenzy of activity to "put up". There will be times when customers want to have a long discussion on the merits of chicken feet in stock. There will be times when you'll need to impress the kids attending farm camp with how you can pull fresh mozzarella without burning your hands. The job involves a wide range of tasks in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. All of this in a worker-owned cooperative situated on a beautiful and vibrant farm.

Excellent and wide-ranging cooking skills including baking. Preservation skills a plus.
Knowledge and familiarity with seasonal variations in Pacific NW ingredients a plus.

Current Food Handlers Card.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to develop and complete small batch recipes.
Must have keen ability to smell, taste, and visually inspect ingredients as well as finished product.
Must be able to meet physical requirements of standing, twisting, bending, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40lbs regularly.
Ability to commute to Sherwood, Oregon.

Seasonal Farm Crew
1 FULL-TIME SEASONAL OPENING
We are hiring for full-time, hourly positions from April through October to support vegetable production at the farm. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, detail oriented, fast learners and motivated to streamline workflow. Ideal candidates have fun working alone and in a group. The work is mostly physical, but requires a sharp mind, good judgment, great sense of humor and love of vegetable(s) puns. Folks with prior farm experience are encouraged to apply, but we will also consider qualified candidates with no prior experience. Several of the farm crew live in Portland and try to carpool as much as possible. Employees will be able to participate in farm dinners, a variety of projects at the co-op and connect with other farms. There is opportunity for expanding roles and responsibilities.
