We have a few (very few!) seats left for our Diwali dinner tomorrow (celebration of the Hindu festival of lights). Narendra is in the kitchen prepping and boy does it smell good!
Now it is back to winter planning, closing up shop and digging all of our roots!
I know the email I sent out on Friday said there would be leeks but we'll start those next week, the crew was a bit short staffed earlier this week! Also, if you are wondering why we only have red onions to send ya'll it is because we had a bit of a yellow/sweet onion seed failure. We grew 6 different types of yellow onion but they all came from the same seed producer and they bolted in the heat, such a bummer!
I think ya'll have had everything on this list so I won't go in to too much detail. The pink turnips are delicious raw or cooked, the greens are also super tasty and can be sauteed with the pac choi and/or mustard greens. I know you've had a lot of pac choi lately but it is a short season crop so we'll take it while we have it! The butter lettuce is just decadent, especially at this time of year!
