Even with all of the on-again off-again May showers we've bee able to get quite a lot done this week. All of our melons, peppers and cucumbers are in the hoop houses and growing strong. We started planting out our corn, beans and squash field and tomorrow will get all of our outdoor tomatoes in the ground. It is starting to feel like summer is just around the corner! New in the share this week.. Magma Mustard Greens A nice healthy handful of this rare heirloom variety of mustard green, ruddy red in color with a bright green accent–Magma has a nice mild to medium-heat depending on the leaves and is delicious raw in a salad or on a sandwich or wilted. If you are not a fan of the mustard variety of heat you can steam or wilt the greens and it will subside. Can also be added to soups! Over and out! Jen |
