The bottom of the bag is filled with carrots thanks to the quantities we were able to store in our root cellar. Though we weren't able to double up on everything, we doubled up where we could and this week that meant more delicious carrots! Along with the bright orange roots there's a nice bunch of purply kale that's darkened and sweetened with the cold, a couple of collard leaves, a leek, and a big head of chicory. We had to pick through a bit of frost damage so there are two varieties of chicory out there this week, Frisée (pictured) and Castlefranco. Both can be eaten raw in a salad or cooked in the ways we've described in previous posts. We hope you enjoy, and we thank you for sticking with us through these cold times. Talk to you Thursday!
