As summer continues to chug along you'll notice some familiar faces popping up in the shares as well as some new summer treats. For this week you'll be getting a head of red leaf lettuce, a couple of "stocky red roaster" peppers (great fresh, or as their name suggests roasted and added to sauces or pizza or whatever you'd like), a pint of assorted cherry tomatoes, a bunch of parsley, a bunch of flowering dill (I recommend using it in potato salad, recipe in the 7/27 blog post), and the piece de resistance, a sweet-as-candy cantaloupe melon. The best way to eat the melon is to cut it in half and then, using whatever utensil you have (or none), eat standing up right where you are. Enjoy! Louis |
