Today's share has more mustards, radishes and just a wee bit of lettuce. A bit of the Golden Frill mustard grew back nicely and before we turn that bed in to make way for carrots I thought we should cut a it again for the shares. Pink Lettucey is a new mild mustard in the bags, with slightly pink stems and mild lettucey flavor. The radishes are exploding so there's a nice sized bunch. Remember that the radish greens are also edible. Louis likes them raw but I prefer them chopped and sautéed. Finally, the last of the baby lettuces makes it into the shares to clear space for new crops.
The weather is beautiful, but that means we finally need to start irrigating. That, in turn, means I need to go pick up irrigation supplies. Cotton bags should be coming soon and I'm set to work on new boxes later this week. Meanwhile the crew is potting up tomatoes in the greenhouse and getting ready to start planting out onions and shallots. These long days are definitely getting longer.
