Week 4 and we're seeing a little more growth in the lettuces. The radishes have been excellent and we have one more good sized bunch for the shares before we take a break from them for a few weeks. Finally, today's share has a nice bunch of turnip thinnings. The greens on the turnips are excellent eating, Louis's new favorites.
I like both the radish and turnip greens chopped up and sautéed. They can also be eaten raw. The radish roots are super sweet and fantastic raw. Lettuce is of course great raw.
We're hoping this will be the final harvest in plastic bags. The cloth bags are here and they're beautiful. The new boxes are almost ready as well.
All of that box and bag set up is competing for our time with getting irrigation going and the irrigation is winning out. We're also trying to plant more. I'll see if I can get an update on the fields posted later in the week.
